Wasting Time
Sitting here devouring the last bits of what I have dubbed my Asian Shepherd's Pie - Honey, Soy, Mustard and Garlic Beef and Vegetable Stew topped with scalloped potatoes and cheese. Mmmmm...

Thanks to Kaz, I have a new quiz to enjoy filling out, and you have a new quiz to enjoy reading! So... enjoy!

01. What time do you get up? Between 7 and 7:30am, except Fridays, where I sleep in til about 10am.

Settling in
I think for the first time since I started my new job on February 9, 2004, I genuinely felt a sense of friendship with my colleagues. With all of us on the go all the time and looking after so many different activities and people, I don't often feel like I have a lot in common with them. Of course, that could be because I'm practically the only Asian in a church with a membership base of 2500. And that's only a slight exaggeration.

This week though, I felt the veil of acquaintenceship lift and for no tangible reason at all, suddenly warmed up to people, acting like the Vron most other people know. I felt at home serving tea and coffee at a leaders' dinner, cleaning up the hall afterwards, talking about TV shows and websites around the lunch table, exchanging useless trivia and caring for people, all without feeling like "it's my job". Yay!

Addicted
Welcome to the confessions of a certified TV junkie. Whether I'm reading it or watching it, it's my favourite way to relax, my little way of keeping in touch with a world whizzing by around me. I think I watch or read TV or DVDs for at least 2 hours a day. Is this a bad thing? Because I'm not a multi-tasker, it's not like I'm doing something else constructive at the same time either. Unless you count sleeping. Mmmm... sleep. The best 6 hours of my day!

The Land of Nod
My precious sleeping time has been interrupted of late with dreams. Not your fantastical, way out or nightmarish dreams either of falling off tall buildings, flying or being chased. Just your every day dreams with every day people doing every day things. The thing is, I feel like I'm playing out an alternate reality in my dreams - like a Paltrowesque "Sliding Doors" experience of what life would have been like if I hadn't taken this new job 4 months ago. No new church, no new surroundings, no driving to work daily, and lots of old friends and familiar experiences. I kinda like it...

Tradition
The closest my family and I get to a tradition is my mum and I sitting down to watch the Miss Universe pageant every year since I can remember! I love the predictability, the glitz, the big hair and most especially the knowing comments mum and I can make as seasoned viewers. Case in point tonight..., "oh, she has a good walk, she'll make the top 5". We had particular fun this year keeping our eye out on the Taylor Forrestor look-alike, Miss Paraguay (only true B&B fans will know what I mean) and lamenting the newly crowned Miss Universe 2004's lack of defined lips, while patting her figuratively on the back for being Aussie!
