Feelin' hot hot hot

Greetings from Adelaide!

It has to be at least 3 years since I was last able to say that :-) Adelaide hasn't changed too much - still very hot, dry and with very polite taxi drivers. Incongruent as it may seem given the city I'm in, it's been a whirlwind couple of days so far. Shopping at Harbourtown and Rundle Mall; scrumptious seafood buffet at Skycity; gorgeous accommodation in a two bedroom apartment at Oaks Embassy on North Terrace. We even checked out the city branch of Guy Sebastian's church, Paradise Community Church. Tonight we're having a "homecooked" meal of shepherd's pie, salad and garlic bread, and if we're not too tired, we might check out the city fireworks. Tomorrow entails sightseeing (and posing for photos with our new Canon S3IS!)

Happy New Year, everyone!

The big two-eight

Birthdays keep getting more and more uneventful, don't they? The concept of parties, presents and cake just don't do it for me anymore. Still, it's kinda fun to get a little something from people who know an aspect of you really well and choose a gift appropriately. I thought this year's round-up was rather telling!

1. Clothes (mum and dad)
2. Birthday dinner (brother)
3. Everwood Season 1 box set (friend)
4. Operatunity Oz cast CD (friends)
5. Random 10 minute conversation with an ex-ING client who lives in Mt Isa who mistakenly called my work number and wouldn't stop telling me what a nice speaking voice I had - I apparently "made his day". (complete stranger)
6. A night off watching youtube clips and not doing any church or work stuff! (me)
