A week in the life...

Time is whizzing by at the moment. It's September tomorrow. Golly. Let's see, what's happened this week in the life of V?

Work
After a series of inebriated farewells (or rather, watching amusedly as other people enjoyed inebriated farewells), my boss worked his last day today at my company. It brought back memories of a previous job (2 years ago) when due to rationalisation, each week saw another team member bite the dust, and we devoured fine food and free drinks every week for about 3 months!

Bro's Year 12
I feel like I'm doing Year 12 all over again. Except this time it's as hard as 1st year uni. Darn that International Baccalaureate.

Church
Working out all over again how to be efficient and firm without hurting people's feelings. *sigh*

Skating
I've now officially had 4 figure skating lessons.

Moves I can do okay:
forward 2 foot glides
forward 1 foot glides
backward 2 foot glides
forward stroking (normal side to side skating)
forward swizzles (tracing "coke bottles" on 2 feet)
\ /
/ \ /
/ forward half swizzles (gliding on 1 foot while the other does the swizzle thing)
Crashing into a wall to stop

Moves I'm pretty bad at (but working on!):
Backward stroking
Backward swizzles
Forward crossovers
2 foot turns (forward 2 foot glide, turn, backward 2 foot glide)
T-stops (gracefully braking with one foot)

Multi-tasker not, am I

Realised recently, did I. Multi-tasker am I not born to be. Focussed intently on one thing at a time I am. Bad omen for busy work schedule it is.

Write like Yoda why, know not I.

Pride & Prejudice

If you don't like spoilers, behind-the-scenes info on casting, locations, production etc, then don't click on this link. Or this one.

Me? I have no such hang-ups. Spoil away.

The Blue Room

Greetings from Melbourne Airport! I'm sitting in Virgin Blue's airport lounge, typing merrily away on my laptop which is connected via a wireless network to my work IP. Fun!

My return flight's been delayed by almost an hour, and I can actually blame it on my flight from Sydney to Melbourne this morning. Nothing to do with me, of course. Honest! Actually, our captain was MIA this morning and all the poor passengers had to wait around for him to arrive before we could board. My colleagues and I had great fun speculating on whether he (a) slept in, (b) got stuck in traffic or (c) was suffering from a hangover. Hee!

Anyways, we're being called now, so bye bye 6 degree weather, drizzle and weird right hook turns in the CBD that almost caused 2 consecutive tram accidents today. Au revoir!

Visual Anticipation

Movies I want to see:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (September 1)
Little Fish (September 8)
Pride and Prejudice (October 20)
Chronicles Of Narnia - The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe (December 26)
Rent (Oz release date unknown)

Stress

Have you ever been under so much stress that you've broken out in spots?

It's very strange, I definitely don't feel stressy (though I am under considerable pressure at the moment) so I can't explain the sudden rush of acne. Grrr!
